As a Small Business located in Downtown Pittsboro, we welcomed this interior office renovation project with the excitement that comes with a new project and also a new neighbor. Located only two blocks from our office, Perch Co-working is a teleworking office space. The renovation took place within a historic downtown brick building and embodies an open concept for the majority of work spaces, requiring attention to acoustics for interior comfort. Existing windows provide much needed natural lighting while new private offices and meeting spaces include new interior windows to allow that natural light to transmit through the interior as much as possible while balancing the need for visual privacy. The existing storefront enables those outside of the building a glimpse inward to see productivity within and the views outward allow members of the space to feel connected to the community at-large. With branding in mind, the exterior windows and entrance are marked with bright orange awnings and that color is carried inward through a modern ceiling grid over the open work spaces.
