Central Carolina Community College has a regional reputation for emergency services training, and the Emergency Services Training (EST) Campus accordingly serves as a regional resource. To maintain and augment this status, the current program has unmet needs related to the physical training aspects of the EST curricula, and seeks to meet those needs with new construction.
The work consists of new construction of an approximately 8,100 square foot one-story building at Central Carolina Community College’s airport campus and associated site and landscape improvements. The new building will house classrooms, offices, locker rooms, physical training rooms, and support spaces. The primary structural system and exterior envelope system will consist of a pre-engineered metal building system and cast-in-place concrete slab on grade. Interior construction will consist of metal stud framed partitions with gypsum wall board and various wall finishes. Mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire alarms systems will be included, comprised of air to air heat pumps, electric water heating, and LED lighting. Site improvements include utilities, landscaping, and a paved parking area.
